In today’s busy world many people have come to accept stress as a necessary by-product of getting things done. If we were to take a survey of how many people experience some level of stress on a daily basis, I would suspect that the results would be close to 100% of participants.
Have you ever thought about what life would be like without stress? What if you could release stress while still accomplishing just as much in your life and business?
It is not only possible but it is realistic and achievable. By using NLP techniques you can help manage and reduce your stress, not just in the short term but also long term through larger life changes.
Here are some simple ways to start reducing your stress:
- Build positive supportive routines – Routines can help reduce the decision-making load. Setting up your day with a good morning routine can help you feel more in control. Consider some habits such as morning exercise, journaling and meditation. Throughout your week consider having set times for meetings, meal planning, and social events. A family calendar might help if you have a busy schedule of kids’ sports and after school events. Review this at the start of the week.
- Create a positive anchor – Anchoring is a highly beneficial tool to use when you need to shift your state. For example, you can create a feel-good anchor with a positive piece of music, a certain room in your house, or a unique smell that could be used in a diffuser or inhaled during times of increased stress. You can also create anchors connected to positive energy-packed past events. We teach you how to do this during some of our practitioner trainings (let me know if you’d like to know more).
- Step away from technology, notifications, demands – Make sure you schedule time in your day to separate yourself from the ‘noise’ of the external world. Going for a walk or meditating are two great ways to do this. When you feel stress rising it can be as simple as just stepping outside in the sunshine for 10 minutes.
- Use our simple 30-second stress release method – I have developed a short training exercise to help you release your stress in 30 seconds or less (great for when stress has built up and you need to shift your state quickly). This little download you can print out and put on your wall. There is a short video training there too which will give you a glimpse into the power within you to give yourself more of what you want and less of what you don’t. You get to choose your state at any time. It is important to remember that, right now.
